I’m here to help healthcare workers apply the skills of improv comedy to create a more adaptable, empathetic and humanizing healthcare experience. Need a virtual talk or workshop? No problem! I practice what I teach: adaptability! All of my talks and workshops are a fun and engaging experience whether experienced live or delivered virtually! My Signature Healthcare Talks
Attendees will learn how healthcare providers applying the philosophy taught to improv comedians can create a more adaptable, engaging and humanizing healthcare experience for both providers and their patients. They will learn how the ability to improvise and think on their feet can help them defy the sterile world of healthcare, connect with patients, and create a positive healthcare experience. Your group will learn that going off script (pharmacy pun intended) is the secret to creating an incredible healthcare experience for patients and providers.
While the technical training of healthcare providers has never been more thorough, the ability to apply this hard earned knowledge in the middle of a chaotic and unpredictable healthcare environment remains a challenge. In this talk, attendees will learn how to turn the turbulence of healthcare unpredictability into an asset by applying the same skills as improv comedians. Attendees will come away with the perspective on how to quickly make empathetic connections with their patients and create a more effective and rewarding healthcare experience.
In ImprovRx 101 we dial up the fun right away to apply “Evidence Based Improvisation”! Participants will dive into the basic concepts of improv comedy, what makes improv such an effective tool for improving teamwork, listening, and communication in healthcare, and how to use these skills to create a better healthcare experience for themselves, their co-workers, and their patients. After just a few minutes of instruction on these critical improv concepts, your group will be creating memorable and funny improv scenes to reinforce the application of improv to healthcare. Specific to your organization, we will also discuss how these concepts relate to your values, mission, and goals as well as how to overcome your groups challenges through the power of improvisation!
In “Putting Yes, And To Work,” your group will be immersed in the world of improv comedy, and how it can build an adaptable, empathetic, and humanizing healthcare experience. Based on the goals of your session, we will then launch into hilarious, fun, and thought provoking improv games and activities designed to focus on the specific and relatable concepts of improv comedy. Your group will have a chance to participate in a fun, supportive environment where they will amaze themselves at the rich, unique, and memorable scenes they create. With each activity and scene, we will discuss the improv concepts used, and how we can take the lessons to create a more humanizing healthcare experience.
At the conclusion of the session, we will discuss the important improv concepts that were practiced and ways for participants to apply them effectively and consistently to instill resiliency and adaptability to help dominate the inevitable unexpected that arises in healthcare while creating a more empathetic and humanizing healthcare experience for both providers and patients.
Attendees will learn the skills and philosophy of improv comedy, and how living a “life unscripted” can help unlock creativity, build adaptability, and create connections to improve their personal, family, and business lives. Your group will come to realize that a bigger life means that sometimes we have to off script.
There are few fears greater than facing the unknown. The unknown can be paralyzing, terrifying, and anxiety inducing. In this talk, your group will learn how thinking like an improv comedian can actually help you love and thrive when faced with the unexpected. Attendees will learn, apply, and come away with the ability to let go of control, build resilience and turn the unknown from a liability to an asset for themselves, their coworkers, and their clients.
